Roadside Assistance in the Philippines: What It Is, How It Works, and Coverage

It’s every driver’s nightmare to break down in the middle of nowhere without getting your vehicle up and running. You might’ve been in an accident, blown a tire, or driven poorly. Sometimes, it could be just pure rotten luck. While hitching a ride is an option, it isn’t safe and doesn’t guarantee someone will accommodate you.

Don’t fret—calling for roadside assistance in the Philippines is a convenient way to put your car back in shape. Most vehicle manufacturers and maintenance businesses offer on-call roadside repairs and tows. In this article, you’ll know which roadside assistance companies can rescue your car when it breaks down during a drive.

What is Roadside Assistance?

Roadside assistance is an on-call service for vehicular emergencies. It covers numerous services, including:

  • Tows
  • Jumpstarts
  • Refuels
  • Unlocks
  • Tire changes

Some providers even offer accommodation reimbursements if you get stuck at night and need a place to stay. You can avail yourself of roadside assistance from your car manufacturer and insurance company, but local mom-and-pop towing services can also help you in a pinch.

For the record, roadside assistance isn’t exclusive to cars. Depending on your provider’s policy, your motorcycle, bicycle, or truck may be eligible for these services. Service prices are also affordable, often costing below ₱10,000 or less depending on the plans you avail. Some manufacturers and dealers may offer them for free in the first couple of years after you purchase a new car.

How and Where to Secure Roadside Assistance in the Philippines

Besides the car manufacturer, your insurance and credit card providers may include them in your policies or contracts. Knowing whom to call during roadside emergencies can save you from stress, so check out the following roadside assistance providers in the Philippines.
